The Contact Form 7 plugin for Wordpress provides a success callback in javascript via the Additional Settings field, which lets you trigger things like Google Analytics when a form made a "good" submission, but what happens when you want to trigger something if it failed? Content (nodes) in Drupal 7 is generally atomic, in the sense that it's not by nature related to other content.
